About Law Offices of Hales and Strickland
Hales & Strickland throughout the years has been known
as the Law Offices of Myrt T. Hales, Jr. Mr. Hales has practiced law in the same building that Hales & Strickland currently occupies, while Mr. Hales has been helping injured clients since 1979.
Mr. Hales is a lifelong resident of Richland Parish, with his grandfather moving to the parish in 1912. Mr. Hales grew up working with his father at his corner grocery store in Jottemtown , near the small town of Archibald.
He has been active in the community, supporting numerous
charitable organizations and efforts, believing that investments now pay dividends in the future .
Mr. Hales is an
extremely active member of his church, Rayville First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon. Over the years, everyone
has come to know that, “If you’re hurt, call Myrt.”

In 2015, the Law Offices of Myrt T. Hales, Jr. welcomed son-in-law, Joshua L. Strickland, to the firm to continue the tradition of a small, family-oriented law practice.
Mr. Strickland grew up in a hard-working, blue-collar family,
working throughout high school and college. Josh and his wife welcomed a son into their family in 2015,
and decided that Richland Parish is where they wanted to settle down with their small family.
Mr. Strickland is married
to a life-long resident of Richland Parish. His family members are active and proud members of the Rayville First United Methodist Church community. Being the youngest member of Hales & Strickland, Josh works hard to see that his clients are treated
fairly by bringing vibrant and new-aged approaches to legal issues.
